FirstPoint records were previously enhanced to include “Other” citing references in addition to the existing "FirstPoint Verified" citing references.

The NEW FirstPoint Verified filter, when checked, will restrict Case Law searching to the “FirstPoint Verified” case law and legislative references only.This provides the ability to quickly differentiate between the significant cases and legislation deemed most relevant “FirstPoint Verified” by our internal Legal Editors.

The restriction is only relevant to the following search fields, as indicated by the grey box:

• Cases Cited (Title)
• Cases Cited (Citation)
• Legislation Cited (Title)
• Legislation Cited (Provision)

Selecting the restriction on its own will only apply the rule to the FirstPoint records it will not restrict the search to FirstPoint.

To restrict the search to FirstPoint, users must click on FirstPoint in the Left Hand Pane or tick the box next to FirstPoint to narrow the search. This has not changed.

If a product is not specified the search will run across all Case Law products applying the restriction only to the FirstPoint records included in the search.
