Westlaw AU Tip - How to search for a Provision of an Act or Regulation
In this tip we will discuss how to search for a provision of an Act or Regulation in Westlaw AU.
Example: You want to locate section 47G of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth).
Step 1: From the Westlaw AU homepage select the Legislation and Commentary search template.
Step 2: Enter Freedom of Information Act into the Legislation (Title) field and 47g into the Legislation (Provision) field, then click Search.
Note: As you begin typing the Act or Regulation name into the legislation title field, the predictive text option will display a list of legislation titles. If the Act or Regulation does not appear in the list it is not available within your current subscription.
Step 3: This will locate the Provision (section) and any related commentary.
