Sportsbet to pay $3.7 million in penalties and refunds for alleged contraventions of the Spam Act
Sportsbet Pty Ltd has been fined $2.5 million and has committed to refund customers around $1.2 million for alleged contraventions of sections 16(1) and 18(1) of the Spam Act. Additional remedial actions are also required by Sportsbet as a result of a related three-year court-enforceable undertaking accepted by the ACMA under section 38 of the Spam Act.
