On 23 August 2021, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) released the Notifiable Data Breaches Report for the period January to June 2021 (Report). The Report warns of the increasing prevalence of cybersecurity incidents as a cause of data breaches in Australia, especially in relation to ransomware.
