New Practical Law resource: Practice note, Domain names

/
Content updates

Practical Law Commercial have released a brand new resource, see Practice note, Domain names. Domain names represent a business on the internet and may be part of an organisation's brand.

This resource discusses domain names and focuses on domain names in the .au country code. It considers the different domain names within the .au country code, including the new .au direct names (available from 24 March 2022) and the rules for who can register what names and what names they can have. This resource does not discuss the dispute resolution process for domain names. For further information on the dispute resolution process for domain names, including the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), the Australian Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP) and complaints under the .au Domain Administration Rules: Licensing (Licensing Rules), see Practice note, Domain name disputes.
