CLR Co-Editor Chris Horan KC appointed to Federal Court
The Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP, has announced the appointment of barrister Christopher Horan KC as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia. Mr Horan joins the Victorian registry of the Court and commences on 5 September 2023.
Christopher Horan has been the Co-Editor of the Commonwealth Law Reports (CLRs), together with fellow Co-Editor Dr Paul Vout KC, since late 2016. Prior to his appointment as co-editor, Mr Horan was a longtime CLR reporter and senior reporter, with his first headnotes appearing in Volume 209, published in 2003.
The CLRs, published by Thomson Reuters since 1903, are the authorised law reports of the High Court of Australia.
According to the Attorney's statement, Mr Horan was admitted in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1992. He was called to the Bar in 2000 and took silk in 2015. At the bar, Mr Horan specialised in administrative law, constitutional law, migration, revenue, native title, and commercial and equity matters.
